Hello Adri! I enjoy your blog because the links you provided were really useful to me. I did not know that when we use the preposition "but" we don't follow the rule to use a gerund with prepositions. In this case we need to use an infinitive. I appreciate your help! I just got a question. Is this the only preposition that is followed by an infinitive and not a gerund? Thanks!
ResponderEliminari am happy to know that the link were useful to you.

Hi Adriana!
ResponderEliminarI liked your post because I needed to improve my knowledge on gerunds and infinitives. I liked that there were just 5 simple rules so, it is easy to get the information. I learned that gerunds and infinitives can be used as objects of a sentence and also checked the verbs list that need to be followed by a gerund.
I have one question the infinitives should be used after or before adjectives?
Thank you.

ResponderEliminarHello dear Adri!
ResponderEliminarI want to tell you, that your information is really good because the way in that you share with us, is very interesting at the same time I learned about your experiences.
Your material and explanation has helped to reinforment my knowledge, for example I didn`t know that only gerunds are used after preposition, with one exception is when use but is a short word that connects two clauses of a sentence together.
And I have a doubt Do you know if there is another exception in the use of gerunds in a preposition?
Thanks for share your material, that`s great!

ResponderEliminarHello Adri!
ResponderEliminarI really liked your post, there is really nice and useful information, Actually I just knew few rules of the infinitve and gerund usage, and thanks to your post now I know that "Only infinitives are used after sentence objects that are nouns or pronouns referring to a person" It is new for me. I need to study more about it because is really interesting and useful to avoid mistakes.
I just have a little doubt; is ok if I say "She didn't tell us to eat the pizza"?
